Psychotherapy, services for families
& for couples

Psychotherapy and conversational support

Psychotherapy offers an opportunity to pause and reflect on your own situation, relationships, and wellbeing within a safe and confidential collaborative relationship. It is a goal-oriented treatment with documented effectiveness for various mental health challenges and psychological symptoms. The aim of the work is to ease the burden, strengthen resources, and find new, more effective ways of coping in everyday life and relationships. Psychotherapy can also support psychological growth, self-awareness, and problem-solving skills.
My practice is in central Helsinki. Please note that unfortunately my office is not accessible. Remote appointments are also possible, and by agreement I make home visits to certain areas. Please feel free to get in touch, and together we can consider a way to begin that suits your situation.
You can seek psychotherapy as a self-paying client, through an insurance company, or as rehabilitative psychotherapy supported by Kela. I am a Kela service provider in family and couples psychotherapy, and I accept HUS service voucher clients in different forms of family and couples therapy.

COUPLES PSYCHOTHERAPY

All relationships face ups and downs. Couples psychotherapy offers a couple the opportunity to pause and reflect on their shared situation safely and with professional guidance. In the work, we can explore challenges in relationships, interaction, closeness, conflicts, and the wellbeing of one or both partners. Sessions mainly take place together with the partner. If needed, the process may also include individual meetings for both parties. Couples psychotherapy is an effective form of support both in stressful situations within the relationship and in the treatment of mental health challenges ad illness.
Couples therapy can be helpful when the connection with a partner feels weakened, conflicts keep recurring, or the relationship feels more burdensome than supportive. Life changes, such as the birth of a child, the death of a loved one, children moving away from home, illness, or other changes in everyday life, can also challenge a relationship. In therapy, we seek understanding, new perspectives, and ways to strengthen the connection together.
Couples psychotherapy can also be rehabilitative psychotherapy supported by Kela.
You can find more information about couples psychotherapy (in Finnish), for example, on the website of the Finnish Association for Family and Couples Therapy

INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOTHERAPY

I also offer individual therapy for self-paying clients. I work with themes related to relationships, work life, parenting, pregnancy, birth experiences, and involuntary childlessness. In individual therapy, we can pause and reflect on your specific situation and look together for ways to support wellbeing and everyday life.

FAMILY

PSYCHOTHERAPY

Family psychotherapy can be sought in many different situations. The background may include, for example, long-standing conflicts, stressful interaction patterns, a family member’s mental or physical illness, or a change related to a life stage. Family psychotherapy can offer support, for example, during adolescence, separation, blended family situations, the death of a loved one, or other crises.
The aim of family psychotherapy is to support the whole family and strengthen understanding, connection, and cooperation between family members. Each family member’s perspective is considered, and together we look for ways that help in everyday situations.
The goal is to strengthen constructive, respectful, and appreciative interaction as well as the family’s own resources. In family psychotherapy, we can practice more effective communication, strengthen family relationships, and look for solutions to everyday challenges together.
During the family psychotherapy process, we meet with the family in different constellations according to the situation and needs. What matters is that everyone is heard and that shared understanding strengthens step by step.
Family psychotherapy can also be rehabilitative psychotherapy supported by Kela.
